Object description

A more advanced ammunition type for gun weapons.

Piercing rounds are more expensive than Firearm magazines but have 60% higher damage. This becomes useful as evolution increases: a medium biter has 4/10% physical resistance and the basic firearm magazine only deals 5 damage per shot, so 8 full magazines are required to kill one. Piercing rounds are much more efficient by comparison. Their higher base damage also enables them to scale better with damage upgrades, and gun turrets with piercing rounds and research upgrades remain somewhat effective against big biters. Massed gun turrets with piercing rounds are also a common method for killing demolishers on Vulcanus.
