Available early after the development of Steel, Heavy armor may seem expensive for the novice factory builder but it is well worth the cost. The protection it provides is a class above Light armor, nearly nullifying the damage from small biters (from 7 damage to 0.7) as well as providing respectable protection from medium biters, spitters and worms. In addition it provides excellent protection against accidental self damage from Grenades.

Tragically the weakest point of Heavy armor is that the Engineer will break far more easily than the armor. Health damage can be healed with a steady supply of Fish, but increasing personal durability requires the use of Energy shields and thus the development of Modular armor.

Heavy armor's item stacking is similar to that of Repair packs. Multiple armors can be repaired by merging them together, and splitting a stack will leave all the fractional durability damage on a single armor.
