Tungsten carbide is an intermediate product made from carbon, tungsten ore and sulfuric acid. It's most efficient to craft on Vulcanus, since it is the only planet to feature tungsten ore.

In the real world, tungsten carbide is an extremely hard and brittle material made from equal parts carbon and tungsten. The triangular sprite is a reference to the cutting tools used in metalworking machines, such as lathes.
