Template:Machinery This is the most basic and slowest type of Inserter. They are powered by burning Fuel, compared to the more advanced inserters which are powered by electricity. They are useful for fuelling boilers, as they can continue to operate if the power fails and speed is not required. They are also useful for any kind of low frequency work because they don't have a power drain, like the electric inserters do. In such cases the burner inserter can be much more effective, than the electric driven.
Since v0.10.0, any Fuel items picked up by a burner inserter will also be used to power the inserter. This makes it useful for:
- Automatically loading Gun turrets from a Transport belt, where one side of the belt is filled with magazines and the other with Coal.
- Filling Boilers with Coal. This has the advantage that they will continue working even if the power fails. This is not the case for electrically powered inserters.
A burner inserter consumes about 1 coal every 97.14 seconds (0.0103 coal/second).
