The table below shows for each level of the laser weapons damage research how many (normal [[quality]]{{SA}}) [[Laser turret|laser turret]] activations are required to destroy a small (S) or medium (M) [[Asteroids|asteroid]]{{SA}} on a [[space platform]]. Medium asteroids have 90% laser resistance and cannot be destroyed in a single activation at any research level; at research level 12, 20 or more laser turrets provide sufficient combined fire rate to clear medium asteroids at normal platform travel speeds. Big and huge asteroids (95–99% laser resistance) are not practical laser turret targets and are excluded. The table is shown up to level 20; medium asteroids continue to require multiple activations beyond this point.

Thresholds

The table below shows for each level of the laser weapons damage research how many (normal quality) laser turret activations are required to destroy a small (S) or medium (M) asteroid on a space platform. Medium asteroids have 90% laser resistance and cannot be destroyed in a single activation at any research level; at research level 12, 20 or more laser turrets provide sufficient combined fire rate to clear medium asteroids at normal platform travel speeds.
