Quality module increases a machine's ability to make quality items by 1% and decreases its speed by 5%. This means that, at a small cost of items produced per minute, the machine produces slightly more items of higher quality.

A quality module 1 may requires a small increase in machine quantity to achieve the same throughput, and will produce very few items of a higher quality. A quality module 3 will produce more items of quality, and more of higher quality, for the same decrease in machine speed as the quality module 1.
