Scrap recycling productivity applies a productivity bonus when a recycler recycles scrap. Note that scrap productivity, like other recipe-based productivity researches, only applies when the recycler is processing scrap. Furthermore, when a machine switches recipes, all of its current productivity progress is lost. Since the recycler selects its recipes based on the item it is given, if the recycler processes scrap, and is then given a different kind of item, productivity progress on that recycler is lost.

Note that the 300% productivity limit does apply to this technology. It can be researched past level 30, but it will have no practical effect.
