Alerts and warning icons are notifications and status indicators that inform players about potential issues with their factory.

Alerts display to the right of the quickbar and some play a sound. They globally inform players of the status of the factory, including missing construction material or entities being destroyed. Alerts last between 5 and 30 seconds depending on the type (see the table below). Custom alerts can be displayed using programmable speakers.

Alerts can be clicked to show the position of the entity which caused the alert in remote view. Hovering over an alert enlarges the associated alert icons on the map and shows arrows on the screen edges that point to the positions of the entities that caused the alert.

Warning icons are shown directly on a given entity and indicate its status, such as low power or low ammunition. They last until the object's status changes.

Configuration of alerts

Alert types can be toggled and muted from the alert configuration button above the minimap. This GUI can also be opened with the /alerts command in the console.

Legacy syntax

This section describes content prior to game version 2.1.7

The /alerts command does not disable achievements. Its syntax is

/alerts <enable/disable/mute/unmute> <alert type>

Available alert types are: entity_destroyed, entity_under_attack, not_enough_construction_robots, no_material_for_construction, not_enough_repair_packs, platform_tile_building_blocked, turret_out_of_ammo, turret_fire, custom, no_storage, train_out_of_fuel, train_no_path, no_platform_storage, collector_path_blocked, unclaimed_cargo, no_roboport_storage, and pipeline_overextended.
