Add more specific release pages

At the moment there are a lot of inconsistencies with version pages. The Version history provides the biggest and most in-depth insight into the development, but compared to other game wikis it lacks behind. I'd like to create a page for every released version that includes a standardized sidebar with some basic information (version number, release date, development versions, previous and subsequent version) as well as some more in-depth look into the version itself. Listing all FFFs talking about this version's features, expanding a bit on the changelog if necessary and so on.

Obviously that would be a drastic change from having two pages (Version history and Coming Releases) to having one page per version, but in my opinion it gives you way more options to add useful information for updates than having just those too. I'd therefore like to verify with the admins if this is a change that I can start, or if it isn't wanted.

For now you can create the pages for the major releases( 0.12 0.13 etc), but please don't modify any of the currently existing pages as the has been no definite decision on how to change them (or if at all). A few things about the pages: There will be no sidebar/InfoBox as you describe it, so try to make the pages work without it. However, a Releases Navigation Box (the box at the end of pages) will be created to interlink the different versions. In Factorio the versions that are not stable aren't really development versions. The are majorly bugfixes and minor changes from the specific version, so they should be named experimental versions, not development versions. Furthermore, this means that when you include a "release date" in your pages, it should be the release date of the experimental version and the date when the version was declared stable. Listing the FFF's might not be a good idea because they aren't about "confirmed" changes or features, they are mostly ideas or thoughts on the game that the devs share with us. This might confuse users who read a FFF about something that was not implemented into the actual version. --Bilka (talk) 15:25, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
What do you mean with "there will be no sidebar/infobox?" What I mean is a wiki builtin/customizable infobox like in this KSP wiki article (the one with the image and general info about the planet). It's something that's already in use in its own form in the research and item pages here. As for the FFFs I didn't mean to list all FFFs that have been written before the version was released, but rather those that actually discussed a topic concerning this version. So for instance if 0.15 implements the belt changes mentioned in FFF #176 that could be a FFF listed in that page if that makes sense. Padarom (talk) 18:33, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
Hey there, I'm one of the other admins. I'll answer a few of your questions. Concerning the infobox, the reason why there won't be one is because the infobox that is used on item pages here does not have support for versions of the game. It is also unnecessary, as a quick overview of the version can just be put at the beginning of the page. Our current plan is to create a page for every major version, 0.1.0 through 0.15.0, and detail each development/bugfix version with headers on the page. Any notes or relevant links for each version can be placed beneath the header. I believe Bilka misunderstood your original idea to have the FFFs on the page. It's fine to link them if what they concern was actually added to the game, speculation FFFs should be omitted.
You are welcome to help with this effort by taking the existing version tables from Version history and placing them onto subpages of Version History, eg Version history/0.1.0. Bilka and I will assist with this. Past 0.13.0, I will handle as I can automatically pull from the changelogs and set it up. Thanks for your interest in improving the Wiki, and let me know if you have any further questions. --(Gangsir) (talk) - Admin 22:26, 10 March 2017 (UTC)

Remove changelogs, only links to the forum topic?

I think the changelogs can be removed, because they have exactly the same content as in the respective forum topic. Maybe we can put the forum links beside the version numbers, because in the forum the older posts aren't chronologically in order because some have more recent replies than others.
