- A sushi belt is a transport belt that holds more than one type of item per lane.
- Sushi belts are commonly used on Fulgora, but can be used in many cases.
Setting up a sushi Belt
- The first thing to decide when setting up a sushi belt is how many transport belts your sushi belt will consist of. A sushi belt can consist of one or two transport belts.
- Single belt sushi belts are much easier to make and use, but (obviously) have half the throughput of double sushi belts.
Taking things off of a sushi belt
- Use splitters to remove items from sushi belts. Single sushi belts use three splitters. The first splitter is set to remove all items of a selected type from the belt
- The second splitter is positioned directly off of the outside lane of the first splitter. It is set to prefer the outside lane.
- The third splitter is positioned directly off of the inside lane of the second splitter. It is set to force all items to its inside lane. This is done by selecting it to filter deconstruction planners (or anything that will never be on the belt) on its outside lane.
Looping or ending a sushi belt
- At the end of a sushi belt, you have the choice of either looping the items back to the start of the belt, or ending the belt by forcing all items off the belt.
Looping a sushi belt
- To loop a belt, simply connect the end of the belts to the beginning of the belt. The start of the belt may need to be modified.
- Looping a belt may result in clogging, so it is not recommended in all scenarios.
Ending a sushi belt
- Depending on the planet the sushi belt is on, ending a sushi belt may be easy or difficult.
- On Vulcanus or in space, inserters can be used to dump items into lava or off the platform.
- It is more difficult on other planets. If recyclers are available, they may be used to destroy items overtime.
- Another solution is to collect the items at the end of the sushi belt into an active provider chest. Note that this may clog the logistic storage in some scenarios.
