Well, here my promised review of this page ( http://factorioforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=20029 )
All in all the page is "too condensed".
Let's begin left to right and up to down:
FAQ or News on top is a good question. It's about relevance. Currently the news are not very relevant anymore, just a copy of the FFF-links (it was much more a year ago). It would be much more useful if it's included news like "when is a release?" "What's the current state of Steam?" etc. But as it currently is, that seems to be not relevant, so bringing the FAQ into front seem currently the right idea.
Technical: It's so compressed like so doesn't look nice. Well, when I see it now it seem for me to be logical to move that box to the right to "Get the game".
Get the game: When the "Technical" is moved into here it has the right size for that.
Community: Hm. Dunno. Putting two items into one box looks for me in most cases to compressed/not good looking. I don't know yet, where to move it... but here it doesn't look nice.
Beginners/Advanced/Expert: Well that is taken more or less from the original (and I made it), but when I look at it with the distance of one year I can say, that I like the Beginners, but not Advanced/Expert. There is no logic to say "This is beginner, that is Expert".
Concepts: Would be more useful right to Beginners.
Modding and scripting: Doesn't belong here!
The next line with the 5 boxes is a no go! Maybe 4, if only that slim, but 5 will kill the design.
Networks: Well you cannot know, that these is a remaining things from 2 years ago, where the homepage was sorted into "networks". We had some discussion around this and the result is mainly, that Factorio has some networks, like Electrity, Logistic, eventually Liquid and Railway, the rest is no "network" at all. And the better word to describe that all is "System". One result of that discussion was for example the "Belt Transport System". So this box shows only, that there is much, much work to do to rename all that pages. :)
Contribute: I don't see, why that is sorted at the bottom. That thing is essential. Maybe not on the top, but I see that generally more in the middle of the page.
New contents: that is completely outdated. In it's origin it was thought for the roadmap and new game contents.
Game misc: That is generally much more on top. Stuff like how to use the console is important.
'''Summary''': Some ideas a neat, but the current sorting of this page is not useful. I've some ideas of how to improve that, but I'm currently too tired to continue here so i hope it's o.k. to stop now, so that you have a chance to answer. :)

Thank you Ssilk for looking at the page I appreceate it.
So here's my response.
I didn't Really "add" anything to the page I simply reorganized what is already there so I'm not going to address any comments about pages being wrong or outdated as i find they are not relative to what I was trying to do with the page as I agree that some pages should be removed from the WIKI.
'''"All in all the page is "too condensed"."'''
This was what i was trying to do. I felt the page was too all over the place and i personally like to see everything 'At a glance' sort of speak. But others are not me.
'''"Technical: It's so compressed like so doesn't look nice. Well, when I see it now it seem for me to be logical to move that box to the right to "Get the game"."'''
I felt it should be with FAQ as if i was having an issue with the install the first place i would look is in the FAQ
'''"Get the game: When the "Technical" is moved into here it has the right size for that."'''
Agreed, nothing to discuss
'''"Community: ect."'''
was the point of my design so nothing to discuss, Not everyone likes compressed design.
'''"Beginners/Advanced/Expert: Ect.."'''
did not add these just moved them around a bit, nothing to discuss.
'''"Concepts: Would be more useful right to Beginners."'''
Works for me
'''"Modding and scripting: Doesn't belong here!"'''
I completely disagree. I personally believe there should be a wiki page dedicated to the modding community as it is growing. I understand that nothing is official and a "list of mods" is a dumb idea but going over the way to mod and some good practices i think would be something nice to add.If this WIKI is suppose to be all about Official Factorio stuff that's fine. Then I say at least link to the Modding forums. (which i feel is like linking a new modder to a swarm of confusion but that's just me)
'''"The next line with the 5 boxes is a no go! Maybe 4, if only that slim, but 5 will kill the design."'''
i dont know i kinda like the break in design. Made it show that this section was very different then the ones before but i understand if it needs to go.
'''"Networks: ect..."'''
did not add these just moved them around a bit, nothing to discuss.
'''"Contribute: I don't see, why that is sorted at the bottom. That thing is essential. Maybe not on the top, but I see that generally more in the middle of the page."'''
That's just it, it's not essential at all. It by itself does not give inforamtion about the game (which WIKIs are for) and you can go to ANY professional page and the "contact us" or "credits" are almost always to the VERY bottom of the page. It's a professional standard. Even movie credits are at the end of the movie (unless you think it's clever to throw them in at the beginning...Personal pet peeve) I understand that showing people where to contact to get added to WIKI editing and such is important but i never met anyone who was looking for the "contact us" sort of thing to look anywhere but the bottom of the page.
'''"New contents: ect.."'''
did not add this just moved it, nothing to discuss. Feel free to remove
'''"Game misc: That is generally much more on top. Stuff like how to use the console is important."'''
things like "how to move" should be under beginner not MISC. MISC should be used for things that don't go under any other listed category. That's the point of MISC. Also
did not add this just moved it.
'''Summary: Some ideas a neat, but the current sorting of this page is not useful. I've some ideas of how to improve that, but I'm currently too tired to continue here so i hope it's o.k. to stop now, so that you have a chance to answer. :) "'''
The whole idea was to bring it up for discussion and as i had hoped it brought to light a number of pages/sections that you looked at and went, "does this belong?" and i agree that some don't. The WIKI is currently at a state of near-usable with these pages that are incomplete or downright incorrect for the latest versions (and are missing version numbers for that matter). I just feel something needs to get things going in the right direction again and this was my first step i think was needed.

Welcome to factorio! We hope you will contribute much and well. You will probably want to read the help pages. Again, welcome and have fun! Klonan (talk) 20:48, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

Well, here my promised review of this page ( http://factorioforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=20029 )

All in all the page is "too condensed".

Let's begin left to right and up to down: FAQ or News on top is a good question.

Summary: Some ideas a neat, but the current sorting of this page is not useful. I've some ideas of how to improve that, but I'm currently too tired to continue here so i hope it's o.k. to stop now, so that you have a chance to answer. :)
