There's something wrong. The cargo wagon's capacity is always 40 stacks, whether it's 40 stacks of iron or 40 stacks of iron plates. Different amounts of items, but the same number of stacks. --[[User:Factorles|Factorles]] ([[User talk:Factorles|talk]]) 11:13, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

Power, Work, Energy

I would find this easier, if just energy and power were use in this page. I found work somewhat unnecessary because we don't have to deal with forces (electrical or mechanical), which do the work.--Rk84 (talk) 15:42, 24 February 2014 (CET)

About "Work"

This paragraph "It doesn't make much sense to calculate work with the much more common (at least, common in the real world) unit of kilowatt hours, because although the game runs more or less in real-time and the units are meant to be relatively realistic, 1 kW h is a lot of energy, and in fact so much so that you can't reasonably represent the value of a piece of coal that way."

I suspect the real resoning behind this is that kWh is not an SI (derived) unit, so it is not used by factorio. I changed the page to say this instead. -- Bilka (talk) - Admin 19:15, 6 February 2018 (UTC)

Stacks

A Cargo wagon has for example 40 stacks. The capacity of the wagon is 20 stacks (????). But the capacity of a stack depends on, what type of item you put into, so when stacks come into play, you need to say "Capacity of 40 stack iron-ore".

There's something wrong. The cargo wagon's capacity is always 40 stacks, whether it's 40 stacks of iron or 40 stacks of iron plates. Different amounts of items, but the same number of stacks. --Factorles (talk) 11:13, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

The cargo wagon used to hold only 20 stacks and was later changed to hold 40. Looks like only one of the spots was updated. But the wording was hard to read, so I reworded the entire "Capacity" section. Thank you for pointing it out! -- Bilka (talk) - Admin 14:16, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
