Suppression of the template To be completed/fr
Hi,
Can you explain me why you had suppress the template {{To be completed/fr}}? The creation of this template was agreed with User:TheWombatGuru has you can see in my talk page. Mgiraud (talk) 06:05, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hello,
- What I was actually suggesting was creating {{To be completed}} through {{Translation}}, not creating a new template, but I might have needed to bee clearer. So our vision is that these kind of templates are gonna work just like templates like {{EquipNav}} or {{Infobox}} TheWombatGuru (talk) - Factorio wiki administrator 12:44, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
- Plus, there's not really even a need to have "to be completed" templates, as pages that don't exist for a language are yet to be completed. There's no need to make a category for it. --Gangsir (talk) 20:33, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry but if I had created this template it's because I think it covers a need. You are probably, as I am, a contributor in Wikipedia and know the concept of Quality scale. The method used in Wikipedia is IMO to complex for us as there are not so many contributors here. But need remains. I would like to be able to make a difference between a Stub (Very limited contents, e.g. Short description and Infobox), a Good start (The article can stay like that but has To be completed later, for example no time to translate everything or some things seem to be not relevant anymore), and a Good article (which can always been improved). For Stubs we have a template {{Stub}} and a Category: [[Category:Stubs]] with language oriented subcategories. I have a need to retrieve the "Good start" articles as well, in a dedicated category to better organize the job.
- E.g. if you compare two articles tagged as Stubs : Types/InventorySize and Inserter capacity bonus (research) the first one is clearly a stub but the second one is not. Mgiraud (talk) 05:20, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

- I have a different idea. I've been working on a template that could be used on pages that are bigger than stubs, but still not fully written. It's more general purpose, and would simplify things instead of us creating a large amount of templates. It's called construction, and you can see it here. Let me know what you think of it. I think it'll work for the purpose you're describing. Me and Wombat could also set it up to automatically translate so you can use it on french pages if you want. --Gangsir (talk) 13:08, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
Please stop deleting my work without at least a discussion
Being an administrator is not being the king. A wiki is a collaborative experience.
If I have created those three pages it is because the ProdustionNav template had links to them (before you changed it). I don't know why you make those changes... It is a lot better to explain you changes than just writing "Do not create pages that don't have an english version." in the deletion log. IMO those links were useful and I was expecting those pages to be created. I think that we need to improve the Item page.
By the way I just don't know were your rule come from. Do you think that just because something is written in English it is better than other things?
We are not a lot contributing to this wiki, please try to be a little more friendly. Mgiraud (talk) 08:11, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
