How to use mods?

How to install

Using the mods is very easy:

  1. Download the mod you would like
  2. You (normally) don't need to unzip them! (Unzipping is optional since v0.10!)
  3. Copy the mod into the appropriate directory (on Windows: %appdata%/Roaming/Factorio/Mods). If the directory doesn't exist, create it.
  4. Run the game
  5. Open the Mods menu and make sure the mod is enabled (requires restart on changes)
  6. Enjoy your installed mod

Xterminator has made a video tutorial for that (Windows only).

Location of mods depends on your operating system

Please see into Application Directory to locate the application-path. The mods have to be installed in the "mods" directory.

Note that mods should not be installed into the data folder!
