Lava is a resource found in Vulcanus. It can be gathered using offshore pump. It can be processed in foundry with molten copper from lava into molten copper, or with molten iron from lava into molten iron.

It can be obtained by placing an offshore pump on a lava lake and sent through pipes like any other fluid. Lava is exclusive to Vulcanus, and cannot be landfilled without Foundations Since lava cannot be barrelled it cannot be sent to other planets.

Inserters and the Character can drop items in the lave, permanently deleting them. Underground pipes and Underground belts cannot transport items under lava, however Elevated rails can be built over lava. Elevated rail supports and ramps cannot be built on lava without foundations, which limits the distance that elevated rails can travel over lava lakes.
