The table below shows for each level of the laser weapons damage research how many (normal [[quality]]{{SA}}) [[Laser turret|laser turret]] activations are required to destroy a small (S) or medium (M) [[Asteroids|asteroid]]{{SA}} on a [[space platform]]. Medium asteroids have 90% laser resistance and cannot be destroyed in a single activation at any research level; at research level 12, 20 or more laser turrets provide sufficient combined fire rate to clear medium asteroids at normal platform travel speeds. Big and huge asteroids (95–99% laser resistance) are not practical laser turret targets and are excluded.
