EstebanLB: 1J = 1W * sec

Factorio and this wiki are using the following units:

; [J] Joules (Power)
: the unit for work. Please don't mix work with energy! Work is in coal, oil, hot water and must be converted into energy before usage.
: This is most important, because this conversion takes time; it's a big difference if I convert one item of coal in 1 second or in one minute.
: Dependend on this conversion-rate is the resulting/needed power; in Factorio most entities describe their needed power per Tick.
: The conversion ratio is 1J = 1W per second
: A real-life example: Work for 1 liter gasoline is about 44 megajoules (Motorbenzin), if you convert that with liquid oxygen into energy, you can drive a rocket with it (Very, very hot! :) ). If you convert that within 1-10 Minutes it is good for driving a car. If you convert that within 1-2 hours it's just enough to warm a house.
: More reasons:
: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061001142636AADb40G, http://www.differencebetween.net/science/difference-between-work-and-energy/ or just https://www.google.de/search?q=difference+between+energy+and+work

; [chunk] (Area, Lenght)
: a Chunk is an area of 32x32 tiles, an area of 1024 tiles, or a length of 32 tiles. See also Tile.

; [s] Second (Time)
: a Game-second.

; [tile] (Area, Length)
: a tile is the smallest piece of map. See Tile.

; [W] Watt (Energy)
: the unit for power. If something uses power, it means, that it will do work (see Joules above), as long as it is used.
: Work is power multiplied by time. For difference between work and energy see also Joules above.

Follower robots will only loosely follow the player and are subject to inertia. This allows the player to 'swing' packs of Defender/Destroyer robots into enemy bases to damage enemy structures with less risk to himself. Launching Distractor capsules into the enemy base beforehand, as well as using the speed of the Car or Basic exoskeleton equipment can further reduce damage to the player.

Count Limit
The maximum number of active Destroyer robots is limited by the Follower robot count research. While using follower robots, the number of robots in-use will be visible on an icon to the right of the quick-bar. Hovering over the icon with the cursor will show the types of robots and the currently researched maximum.
Distractor robots can be useful for providing temporary defense for weak or undefended areas during Biter attacks. They are also very useful for drawing the fire of enemy worms while attacking Biter bases. Simply fire one or more Distractor capsules into the midst of enemy worms and, as long as they have not already targeted the player, the worms will prioritize killing the Distractors.
Count Limit
Since the Distractor robot is stationary, it is unaffected by and does not count toward the Follower robot count limit imposed on other Combat Robots. The number of concurrently spawned Distractors is limited only by their lifespan, number of Defender Capsules carried, and delay in spawning.
Items
Goods which can be used by Player or be placed on planet.
Tools are used to increase the mining speed of your character. Whenever you mine resources or items the speed is dependent on your current tool. Iron Axes are your basic tool, after research of Steel Processing the even better Steel Axe gets available.
All weapons will consume ammo when fired. For some weapons multiple ammo types are usable, they differ in cost and inflicted damage.
Strategy
Follower robots will only loosely follow the player and are subject to inertia. This allows the player to 'swing' packs of follower robots into enemy bases to damage enemy structures with less risk to himself. Launching Distractor capsules into the enemy base, as well as using the speed of the Car or Basic exoskeleton equipment can further reduce damage to the player.

Count Limit
The maximum number of active Defender robots is limited by the Follower robot count research. While using follower robots, the number of robots in-use will be visible on an icon to the right of the quick-bar. Hovering over the icon with the cursor will show the types of robots and the currently researched maximum.

Transport network
Inserters are the fundamental structures of a factory. They look and work like a robot-arm and take items from behind and place them in front of it.

Inserters will
* pick up Items off the Ground, off a Transport belt, or from any object that has stacks (eg. Storages/Chests, Furnaces, Assembling machines)
* place the moved item onto the ground, on a transport belt, or into any object that has stacks.

Inserter mechanics
Inserters will act differently depending on what they are moving items to/into so as not to monopolize all of the items being picked up and allow other machines and inserters on the same transport belt to have items.

Insertion Limits
Inserters will not insert into certain buildings if they already have, or are above of, a certain amount of items.

For example, if a boiler has 5 pieces of fuel in it, then an inserter will not insert additional fuel until it has 4 or less.

* Boilers, Burner inserters and Furnaces will not accept more than 5 x Fuel.
* Gun turrets will not accept more than 10 x Magazine (since v0.8.4).
* Assembling machines/Labs: will not accept more than twice the items needed to make one of the specified item.
* For smelting, Furnaces have the same limits as assemblers. Example: no more than 10 x Iron plate is accepted for smelting into Steel plate.

Placing
*Transport belts: Inserters will always place the item on the further lane.
