The Transport network consists of [[Transport belts]], [[Splitters]], [[Underground belts]], [[Inserters]] and [[Storages]].

[[Transport belts]], [[underground belts]] and [[splitters]] are used to direct and control the flow of items around your factory. [[Inserters]] place or remove items from belts, chests and production facilities. [[Storages/Chests|Chests]] can be used to store completed items or as a buffer in your production line.

In most of the cases inserters must be used to place or remove things from the transport belts. However [[Mining drill]]s place items they produce directly on to the transport belt - as you can see in the example on the right.

The [[Transport belts]] where the first elements of this class of entities, so the whole class is called so, even if the [[Underground belts]] and [[Splitters]] work quite differently. ("moving ground" might hit the meaning better)

Inserters will always place items on the far side of a belt, and will prefer to take items from the closest side.

== [[Storages]] ==
A storage is used to store [[Items|items]]. Many things can be used to store items: Furnaces, assemblies and any entity, that has [[Storages/Stack|stacks]], like [[Vehicles/Car|cars]], but even the [[Transport belts|belts]] or the [[Ground]] can be seen as storage. But in conjunction with the Transport network we mean the most efficient way, which is using [[Storages/Chests|Chests]]:

Hey there! I just started playing Factorio and I really want to help make this wiki a complete and useable resource. I saw your post on the forums so I figured your might be able to answer a question. I'm fixing some dead end pages such as [[Armor_making_1]] by redirecting them to the proper pages, however Armor_making_1 seems to be a name used internally by the game. Should those pages contain information about internal game usage aside from just redirecting them?
